Cerebral Wastelands : Interactive Audio Visual Performance
Duration : 45:00

Cerebral Wastelands allows spectators to take real-time control over certain aspects of the performance, thanks to data provided by their mobile phones. This type of approach aims to rethink the commonly held assumptions about the fundamental concepts of artistic performances:
Can the performing artist act as the audience in relation to the “performance” of the audience?
What is the line that separates the audience and the performer? With this power in their hands, does the audience have a desire to bypass the performance or rather interact with the artist as a guest artist?
Can virtuosity be collective among a group of people gathered in the same place at a specific time, or should it remain individual to the artist?
The piece transitions from contemplative moments in a dark universe to a bewildering progression, where the environment captivates the audience with its scale and density, informed by the narrative of an artist striving to overcome anxiety, fear, and solitude. Within this spectrum of dynamism, one discovers surreal architectural landscapes infused with a cyberpunk flair and striking moments of abstraction, all supported by a soundtrack that oscillates between techno-EBM and ambient.
